HOW TO DISTINGUSH A GENIUNE NGO FROM A FRAUD NGO

Nowadays there are many fraud NGO also operating and thus it becomes critical to check whether the donation you are making is to a genuine NGO or not.

Keep these points in mind while checking about the authenticity of the NGO:

·         VISIT THE OFFICE

The first thing you should do before donating to an NGO is to visit their Office. Once you are there you can see the work in action and can judge for yourself whether the work is genuine or an eyewash.
Also pay a surprise visit without informing the staff and you will get a clear picture as to how genuine the NGO is.

·         CHECK CASE HISTORIES

The second thing to do is to check case histories. You can ask for medical reports and donor profiles. This will give you a deep insight about how serious the NGO is about their work.

·         MEET THE BENEFICIARIES

It is a good idea to go and meet the beneficiaries first hand and ask about how they are treated and does any help reach them or not. Meeting them in private will gives you an understanding about the transparency and the truthfulness of the NGO.

·         CHECK THE DOCUMENTS

You can also check the documents of successful cases who have actually gotten the treatment and have recovered because of the funding provided the donors.

·         TAKE A RECIPT FOR YOUR DONATION

A genuine NGO will always give you a receipt for your donation. Never settle without a receipt as the money can be misused and would not reach the beneficiaries.

·         ASK FOR CASE UPDATES AND REPORTS

Also if you have made a donation you have every right to ask for updates and reports which show how the beneficiaries are progressing. You should also visit them in the hospital to check whether the right treatment is being administered or not.

Thus you should donate your hard earned money to an NGO only after being fully satisfied that it will not be misused and will be used in good work which benefits the underprivileged.

ABOUT NATIONAL NGO

National NGO is a non-government social organization which was established in 2012, with the sole purpose of enabling the underprivileged and eternalizing ‘inclusiveness’. We have varied programs for enabling disabled children and getting them back into the mainstream. We also provide shelters for the disabled children at our center at Tughlakabad.

We act as catalyst agents between the donors and the downtrodden, and efficiently and effectively using the funding received, we ensure that the disabled, marginalized and downtrodden are well looked after and given the basic human rights of education and proper nutrition.
